The Arc of Bay County is pleased to announce that Karen Cramer, Organizational Representative Payee, has received a national award from TruLink Financial. TruLink, which provides specialized debit cards used by people with intellectual disabilities, annually recognizes individuals who deliver exceptional person-centered support.
Mrs. Cramer and the support staff at The Arc of Bay County pay basic-needs bills for nearly 200 people whom the Social Security Administration has determined need assistance managing their benefits. The award includes a $2,500 stipend, which Karen will use to further money management education for clients and fund improved technology for the payee office.
Mrs. Cramer shared the following statement with TruLink Financial:
“It is an honor to serve as a representative payee and help support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive.”
The Arc is part of a 75-year-old national network of grassroots advocacy organizations that provide support and assistance to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
