Arc of Bay County Spring Bulletin
Spring Bulletin – The Arc of Bay County
As we welcome the fresh energy of spring, we’re excited to share all the wonderful things happening at The Arc of Bay County. This season is full of growth, generosity, and opportunities to come together!
Your Arc of Bay County is gaining momentum, and the community is taking notice. People with intellectual disabilities are better off today because the Arc exists. Our staff and volunteers continue to go above and beyond—advocating, connecting individuals to essential services, and partnering with organizations that support housing, food security, sobriety, and access to everyday necessities.
We remain committed to educational advocacy for school children and families through our partnership with Arc Michigan, and continue providing independent facilitation services through regional Community Mental Health agencies. Our Rep Payee Program is also growing, with improved systems to better serve those who rely on us for financial management.
We are incredibly grateful for our generous community. Every donation—whether time, money, or resources—helps us continue serving individuals of all ages with intellectual disabilities.

Advocacy – You Can Make a Difference
Advocacy is at the heart of what we do. It means educating lawmakers and community leaders about the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Many individuals face daily challenges—limited income, difficulty accessing care, and lack of support systems. By raising awareness, we help ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Current advocacy efforts include:
- Healthcare Power of Attorney (POA) education
- Support for Direct Care Workers earning a living wage
- Continued work at local, state, and national levels to protect disability rights
If you’d like to get involved, give us a call—we’d love to keep you informed.
Planning Your Future Workshop

- Healthcare Power of Attorney (POA)
- Alternatives to guardianship
This free workshop is a valuable opportunity for individuals and families to plan ahead.
